GIFT PLANNING

You can help the Woodlands Foundation continue to fulfill its mission of enriching the lives of children and young adults with disability and chronic illness. There are numerous ways in which you can leave money/assets to the Woodlands Foundation or invest money so that the Woodlands receives benefits.

Cash: Funding a gift with cash is one of the simplest ways to create a planned gift.

Bequest: You can name the Woodlands Foundation in your will or trust.

Stock: A gift of securities or other assets could avoid capital gains while providing a tax deduction.

Other options include:

  • life income gifts such as charitable gift annuities or charitable remainder trusts
  • life insurance policies
  • gifts of retirement funds IRAs)

General & Program Support
Gifts to the general fund will provide support to the areas of greatest need as well as assist with costs associated with operating the Woodlands.

Kessler Fund
The Kessler Fund supports the "Notes from the Heart" Music Program which takes children out of the audience and onto the stage. Participants work with internationally renowned musical faculty and guest artists in singing, instrument playing, music appreciate and composition.

Mazeroski Sports Fund
The Mazeroski Sports Program was created so that children can leave the bench and get onto the playing field. Participants experience the joys and benefits of sports activities and the emotional lift of competing and being part of a team, learn valuable lessons about winning and losing, and improve their physical fitness and individual goal setting.

Clakeley Memorial Fund
The Clakeley Memorial Fund provides support for spiritual development programs that increase the participant’s sense of self-confidence, and create positive self-identity and self-esteem.

Woodlands Wonderfund
The Woodlands Wonderfund provides seed money for the development of new programs and to enable individuals with financial need to participate in Woodlands activities. The Wonderfund ensures that no family will be turned away from programming due to inability to pay.

Woodlands Endowment
The Woodlands Endowment is a permanently restricted fund that was established to ensure the financial stability of the Woodlands by generating sufficient income to manage its operations as well as foster growth to serve more individuals.
